Hear local author and pediatrician Yasamin Vafai read from her new children's book, Why Won't It Grow? This story about growing up and growing plants has an intentional representation of disability and diversity, and teaches kids that we all need similar healthy habits to grow and thrive. After the storytime, children will have the opportunity to ask the author questions about her book and plant a seed of their own.

Yasamin Vafai is a resident physician in pediatrics at UCSF training to support growing kids. She loves living in San Francisco and spends her free time taking care of her plants, walking among trees, or diving into a good book.
