Join us for a creative letter-writing workshop. Are you an Italian expat, of Italian descent or simply have a strong connection to Italy? Dive into the art of letter writing as a storytelling tool to explore your personal connection to Italy. Write your letter in either English or Italian and showcase your heartfelt letter at the Italian Cultural Institute. Mark your calendar for this enriching experience to connect, create and celebrate the Italian heritage month.  


About the instructor:

Sara Marinelli is a San Francisco based writer, who grew up in Naples, Italy. She is a 2024-2025 Brown Handler fellow with Friends of the San Francisco Public Library, and a Teaching Artist at the San Francisco Opera. Her writings in English and Italian appear in New American Writing, Blue Mesa Review, Pummarol, Nazione Indiana and Leggendaria. Sara is the author of the audio-documentary “Letters to Italy,” and teaches Comparative Literature and Creative Writing at the University of San Francisco.
