Attorneys Hadley Rood and Tom Kroner of Bay Area Legal Aid will present on tenants rights and evictions. Emphasizing the holistic services model employed by Bay Area Legal Aid which provides the organizational resources to resolve clients' needs in-house, they will talk about how attorneys assess the civil legal needs of clients, spot underlying and related issues and draw from the housing legal team's expertise. They will cover the eviction process, fair housing policies and laws and the resources provided by Bay Area Legal Aid's housing team to defend clients' tenants rights and help them to avoid eviction.

About the presenters:

Hadley Rood

A native Northern Californian, originally from the Sacramento area, Hadley Rood received her undergraduate degree from UC Davis in 2018. She went to law school at UC Berkeley, where she graduated in 2022. During and after law school Hadley has worked and volunteered for various organizations doing housing justice and decriminalization of homelessness work in the Bay Area. She has been in her current role as a staff attorney on the housing team in the San Francisco office of Bay Area Legal Aid since May 2023.

Tom Kroner

A native San Franciscan, Tom Kroner started his college journey at Skyline College in San Bruno, before transferring to Cornell University where he received his undergraduate degree. He went on to law school at UC Davis where he graduated in 2020.  During and after law school Tom has worked and volunteered for various organizations doing housing justice work in the Bay Area. He has been in his current role as a staff attorney on the housing team in the San Francisco office of Bay Area Legal Aid since July 2021.
