2:00 - 3:00

Discover the dynamic world of radiologic technology in this engaging session led by experienced technologist Lisa Chesser-Nielsen. She shares her personal journey, educational background, clinical training, and day-to-day experiences in the field. Learn what it takes to become a radiologic technologist, including certification options, specialization areas like MRI and CT, and practical advice for success. Gain insight into the unique challenges and rewards of the profession—from operating advanced imaging equipment to playing a vital role in patient care across various clinical settings.

Lisa Chesser-Nielsen, MSRS, RT(R)(M) began her journey at a community college in Iowa before earning a Bachelor's in Health Sciences from Brigham Young University and completing the Radiology program at the University of Iowa, passing the board exam in 1993. With extensive experience in hospitals, clinics, and urgent care centers—and cross-training in Mammography and CT—she later earned a Master of Science in Radiologic Sciences from Weber State University. Now a full-time professor at Foothill College in California, she continues to stay connected to clinical practice by working shifts in Salt Lake City whenever possible.
