San Francisco author Charles Bush will read from and lead a discussion of his new novel, The Boy with the Jade, set in eighteenth-century China. It tells the story of a boy growing up amidst the extravagance, tumult, and cruelty of a high aristocratic family and is inspired by the Chinese classic Hong Lou Meng (Dream of the Red Chamber).
