This special event brings together scientists, teen storytellers, and tabletop role-playing for three unique panels, presented in collaboration with the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation and SFPL's D&D Internship Program.

10:15-11:15 AM — Interview Panel with Damon Runyon Scientists

A live interview panel in the Koret Auditorium featuring scientists from the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation. These scientists will share insights into their groundbreaking cancer research and the paths that led them into their scientific careers, as well as taking questions from the audience.

12:00-2:00 PM — Live D&D with Damon Runyon Scientists

Science meets storytelling in a live Dungeons & Dragons game on stage. Damon Runyon scientists step into the world of fantasy in an adventure designed for first-time players, led by Dungeon Master Gregory Wilson.

2:30-4:30 PM — Live D&D with SFPL Teen Interns

SFPL’s own teen D&D interns take the stage for a live D&D game led by Dungeon Master Zac Clay, showcasing the talent and imagination of young creators in the city’s Youth Works program.

Whether you're a fan of tabletop games like Dungeons and Dragons, curious about science research, or just looking for a unique live experience, this event highlights the library as a space where learning and creativity come together.
