The film weaves a richly drawn portrait of women exiled in their own country. Three women take up residence in a hotel in the center of Algiers as religious orthodoxy raises its head. The eldest of the three spends most of her time watching TV while bingeing on pizza. Her daughter opts for a modern lifestyle, frequenting nightclubs on weekends. The third woman prostitutes herself while being protected by a local bigwig.
