If you enjoy some history in your fiction, spend an hour hashing out the details of—and the history behind—this month’s novel, Jamie Ford's Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet. Henry Lee is a recent widower living in 1980s Seattle when a chance discovery brings him to reflect on his formative romance with his schoolmate Keiko forty years before which had been derailed when her Japanese American family was interned during World War II.

Read, discuss ideas and connect through the many book clubs hosted by SFPL.

Connect to engaging discussions and performances related to the Chinese American community.

Celebrate and honor the diverse histories and cultures from Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities.
