Join us as we celebrate the 9th anniversary since our reopening in 2014. Come meet our fabulous staff, browse our Beat collection and enjoy the stunning views upstairs. We will have events and activities for families, animal lovers, music enthusiasts and City explorers.

No registration is required to attend the event, but if you'd like to volunteer to help greet and guide at this event, please sign up here.

Events Schedule:

10:00-11:00 a.m. Chinese Fortune Cookies and the Community
Learn how Chinese fortune cookies are made. Discover the history, stories and symbolism of the cookies. Owner of Golden Gate Fortune Cookies Factory, Kevin Chan, discusses the success of his bakery and the significance of the cookies to the community.

10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Walking Tour of North Beach – San Francisco City Guides
Learn about the food, culture and history of San Francisco’s Little Italy, where early immigrants in the 1910s established the authentic Italian character that remains its defining quality. Discover famous landmarks, buildings and spectacular view of downtown and the unique charm of this vibrant neighborhood. Guide: Barbara Cannella.

11:00-12:00 p.m. SF Fire Department Fire Truck Visit
Bring your littlest firefighter fan to see a fire truck and talk with San Francisco Fire Department (SFFD) firefighters. Listen to their fire safety talk and be amazed by the marvelous fire truck and equipment.

12:00-1:00 p.m. Ballet Performance: Classic a la Mode   
Enjoy a ballet performance by dancers from Ballet Infinity in classic ballet alongside beautiful, contemporary choreography. The performance emphasizes the purity and artistry in classical ballet. Instructor and founder of Ballet Infinity: Irene Liu.

1:00-2:00 p.m. Bruce Lee’s Exhibition and Collection
Join San Francisco resident, Jeff Chinn, as he shares Bruce Lee’s life and legacy to the world. Chinn is the world’s foremost Bruce Lee collector and has been collecting for 50 years. Today, Chinn is main lender of memorabilia and docent at the current We Are Bruce Lee exhibition in San Francisco Chinatown.

2:00-2:30 pm. Ukulele Songs and Hula Dance
Enjoy a short performance by members of the Dolphin Uke Club and Dolphin Hula Dancers. They will be playing some popular songs and accompanying the dancers in a traditional hula.

2:30-4:00 p.m. Walking Tour of North Beach – Librarian
