Rock author and music historian Richie Unterberger presents a program on Burt Bacharach, one of the most popular songwriters of the twentieth century. Often working with lyricist Hal David, Bacharach wrote pop, rock, and soul hits for Dionne Warwick, Dusty Springfield, Jackie DeShannon, Tom Jones, Herb Alpert, and numerous other stars. The program features performances from Bacharach's 1960s prime of hits like Warwick's "Don't Make Me Over," Springfield's "The Look of Love," Tom Jones's "What's New Pussycat."

Richie Unterberger is the author of numerous rock history books, including volumes on the Beatles, the Who, the Velvet Underground, Bob Marley and 1960s folk-rock. He teaches courses on rock and soul music history at several Bay Area colleges. His newest book, San Francisco: Portrait of a City was published in 2022 by Taschen.
