Enjoy a poetry reading featuring the queer and trans BIPOC Bay Area writers featured in I Still Love You, an exhibit that conjures queer ancestors and living legends from SFPL archives through original poetry, artwork and historical treasures, currently on view at Western Addition Branch.

Birthed from the groundbreaking Kaleidoscope writing workshop, I Still Love You is an artistic conversation that suspends time and space, paying homage to the power of writing and the complex lineages of people and places that made us.

The I Still Love You exhibit is a partnership between the Queer Ancestors Project (QAP), Still Here San Francisco (SHSF) and the James C. Hormel LGBTQIA Center at San Francisco Public Library. QAP is devoted to forging sturdy relationships between LGBTQI people and our ancestors. SHSF is an intergenerational cultural preservation project amplifying the voices and creativity of LGBTQ2S+ Black, Indigenous, and People of Color raised in San Francisco.

Gather, share knowledge and celebrate our unique identities at the queerest library ever.

For more resources, the James C. Hormel LGBTQIA Center is the gateway to the Library’s broader collections documenting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex and asexual history and culture, with a special emphasis on the San Francisco Bay Area.

Programs designed to celebrate the art of the poem, including readings and talks.

Attend programming, lectures and workshops intended for the BIPOC community.

This program is sponsored by Friends of the San Francisco Public Library.
