Write quietly with other adults. Settle in with a brief check-in, and then hit your flow state without distractions. Write for up to two hours and leave, or stick around and chat — the choice is yours! No critiques or read-alouds, unless you want to share. Facilitated by volunteers from Shut Up & Write!

  • 12:30 to 12:40 - Settle in and do a brief round of introductions (share your name, the project you're working on, and your goal for the session).
  • 12:45 to 2:30 - Shut up and Write! Engage in dedicated writing time.
  • 2:30 - Finish the writing session; take some time to chat, relax, and get to know each other if you have extra time. If you'd like to continue writing, you can do so on the main floor of the library.

Discover new titles, share inspiring works and participate in challenges and contests.

This program is sponsored by Friends of the San Francisco Public Library.
