Learn about End of Life Options with emphasis on California's End of Life Options Act (2016).

Robert V. Brody, MD will discuss resources and guidance available from End of Life Choices California, an organization supporting anyone and / or their family seeking help navigating a serious or terminal illness or simply needing more information on future planning. All legal end of life options will be outlined with emphasis on California's End of Life Options Act (2016), also referred to as Medical Aid in Dying (MAiD). The presentation will include who is eligible for MAiD, recent changes to the law and the process required from the patient for obtaining the prescription from a physician and related issues. 

Robert V. Brody, MD is a primary care, hospice and palliative care and pain management physician and Clinical Professor of Medicine and Family & Community Medicine at UCSF. He has practiced at San Francisco General Hospital for 45 years, where he co-chairs the Ethics Committee.
