During two pivotal historical decades for women’s rights, First Ladies Barbara Bush, Hillary Clinton and Laura Bush played both traditional and pioneering roles in advancing the welfare of girls and women, nationally and globally.

Presented by Patricia Southard, independent scholar, and Elizabeth Thacker-Estrada, Merced Branch Library Manager and President of the Institute for Historical Study.
