Hone your street photography skills in this one day workshop connecting the Harvey Milk Photo Center (HMPC) with the San Francisco Public Library’s exhibition, Toward a Black Aesthetic: Kenneth P. Green Sr.’s Photographs of the 1960s and 70s. The workshop starts at the Main Library with a tour of the exhibition and continues in the streets near the HMPC. The focus is on content rather than technique, and no experience is necessary to take this class. Students are required to bring their DSLR or use smartphones to take photos. The class will end at Harvey Milk Photo Center (50 Scott St, SF) to discuss the photojournalism process and see a slideshow. HMPC will provide a MUNI token for each student. Lunch is not provided, please feel free to bring a lunch.
