Play a game of chess with a casual community. Meet every month on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Thursdays at Glen Park Branch Library. Join every month on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays at Glen Canyon Park Recreation Center. Drop-in and play chess at either or both locations.

Beginner to experienced players are welcome to improve your memory, concentration and practice logical thinking skills. Chess boards and pieces provided but not formal instruction. For ages 6 and older.

This program is sponsored by Friends of the San Francisco Public Library.

Attending Programs

All programs are drop-in (no registration necessary) unless otherwise noted. All SFPL locations are wheelchair accessible. For accommodations (such as ASL), call (415) 557-4557 or contact accessibility@sfpl.org. Requesting at least 3 business days in advance will help ensure availability.
