Dive into the world of comics and graphic novels in this six-week teen workshop led by Matt Silady, professor at the California College of Arts and chair of the Comics program. Whether you are sketching your first panels or you're already an experienced comic creator, this workshop will sharpen your skills in visual storytelling and page layout design. Learn how to bring your unique stories to life with engaging narratives and captivating graphics. Each two-hour session offers hands-on experience. From crafting your first character to laying out your final page, this workshop is your gateway to becoming a dynamic storyteller in the world of comics.  No prior experience required—just bring your imagination and your love for comics! Materials will be provided.

Matt Salidy's comics have appeared in graphic novels, magazines, newsprint, and online. His first book, The Homeless Channel, was nominated for an Eisner Award. Other projects include launching the inaugural San Francisco Comics Fest, the Folio Award–nominated comic The Great Wine Heist for Sonoma Magazine, and guest editing the SF Weekly comics issue. He has also collaborated with open education platform Kadenze to share a free online comics course with 10,000 students around the world.
