Make an appointment for free, confidential basic financial guidance for anyone living, working or receiving services in San Francisco regardless of citizenship status. Coaches are fluent in Spanish, Cantonese and Mandarin with additional translation services as requested. Counseling sessions are in-person or virtual. On Mondays, only remote sessions are available.
 

Learn to: 

  • Establish or improve your credit score  
  • Increase your savings
  • Open a safe and affordable bank account   
  • Assess your public benefit options 
  • Navigate any changes in your income or expenses   
  • Communicate with loan servicers and debt collectors
  • Manage and reduce your debt  
  • Investing and retirement advice is not provided

Attending Programs

All programs are drop-in (no registration necessary) unless otherwise noted. All SFPL locations are wheelchair accessible. For accommodations (such as ASL), call (415) 557-4557 or contact accessibility@sfpl.org. Requesting at least 3 business days in advance will help ensure availability.

This program will be conducted in English unless otherwise noted.
