Come celebrate Youth Speaks' iconic youth advisory council, better known as SPOKES, for a special night of power and poetry. The SPOKES council is a cohort of 10 youth artists and community leaders who help operate monthly Under 21 Open Mics and curate a week long summer camp by and for the youth every Spring. Show up and show out for these incredible young artists who are as dedicated to their craft as they are their communities.


Programs designed to celebrate the art of the poem, including readings and talks.

Events featuring theater, music, art and dance.

Attend programming, lectures and workshops intended for the BIPOC community.


This program is sponsored by Friends of the San Francisco Public Library.


Attending Programs

All programs are drop-in (no registration necessary) unless otherwise noted. All SFPL locations are wheelchair accessible. For accommodations (such as ASL), call (415) 557-4557 or contact accessibility@sfpl.org. Requesting at least 3 business days in advance will help ensure availability.
