We partner with the San Francisco Opera to bring you a series of engaging personal writing and storytelling workshops. 

What's your story? Led by award-winning playwright, Christian Wilburn, The Opera In You series of workshops draws from the richness of personal experiences, to bring out your unique narrative in a creative and collaborative environment, enhancing your storytelling skills along the way. 

Each workshop series culminates in free public events where participants are warmly encouraged to share their stories. Selected narratives might even be transformed into songs showcased on stage. Opera truly belongs to everyone.

The series of workshops is scheduled over the following five Saturdays: July 12, 19, 26, and August 02, and 09, 2025.

Attending Programs

All programs are drop-in (no registration necessary) unless otherwise noted. All SFPL locations are wheelchair accessible. For accommodations (such as ASL), call (415) 557-4557 or contact accessibility@sfpl.org. Requesting at least 3 business days in advance will help ensure availability.

This program will be conducted in English unless otherwise noted.
