Celebrate VIVA and create your own colorful alebrije with visiting Mexican artist Gustavo Mora Perez.
Alebrijes are popular handicrafts from Mexico, originally created by artisan Pedro Linares using cardboard and glue. Alebrijes are representations of fantastical animals, painted in vibrant colors by hand.
In this workshop, participants will experiment with tinwork on foil, creating shapes by embossing and adding color, to make a variety of images inspired by Mexican alebrijes.
For ages 8–18.
