Focused on books that discuss our history in a journey towards the discovery of our ancestors.  

The group will meet on Zoom on alternating months on the second Tuesday of the month. 

This month's book: Sign My Name to Freedom by Betty Reid Soskin 

Blending together selections from many of Soskin's hundreds of blog entries with interviews, letters, and speeches, Sign My Name to Freedom invites you along on that journey, through the words and thoughts of a national treasure who never stopped looking at herself, the nation, or the world with fresh eyes.

This program is in partnership with the San Francisco African American Historical and Cultural Society.

More Than a Month: Black Interest

Connect to engaging discussions and performances related to the Black community.

More Than a Month recognizes important events in Black history, honors community and national leaders and fosters steps towards collective change. Programming features authors, poets and craft classes. 

BIPOC Interest

Attend programming, lectures and workshops intended for the BIPOC community.

This program is sponsored by Friends of the San Francisco Public Library.

All programs are drop-in (no registration necessary) unless otherwise noted. All SFPL locations are wheelchair accessible. For accommodations (such as ASL), call (415) 557-4557 or contact accessibility@sfpl.org. Requesting at least 3 business days in advance will help ensure availability.
