Listen to poetry from the first-ever San Francisco Youth Poet Laureate Karan Gupta and the Spoken Arts program at Ruth Asawa School of the Arts. 

A writer since childhood years with his father, Gupta believes that poetry is writing's most potent form and uses it to explore what it means to grow up in a rapidly changing San Francisco. 

Spoken Artists at Ruth Asawa bring their voices to life through poetry and song, blending rhythm, lyricism, and performance to explore the depths of their creative expression. From spoken word to melodic storytelling, each artist transforms personal experience into vibrant, resonant art that celebrates the power of language and voice.
