Author and illustrator Sara Alfageeh presents a read-aloud of her book Not Yet: The Story of an Unstoppable Skater, loosely based on the life of five-time Emirati National Champion Zhara Lari, who is the first figure skater to compete internationally in a hijab. The read aloud is paired with an author presentation on the making of the picture book and a drawing activity.

Sara Alfageeh is a Jordanian American illustrator, author and creative director in San Francisco. She has a passion for history, teaching, girls with swords, and spaces where art and identity intersect. Not Yet: The Story of an Unstoppable Skater is her debut picture book.
