Social: Storytelling for Adults

Learn practical storytelling techniques through engaging prompts, pictures, and photographs, to help bring your memories and ideas to life. Whether you are a seasoned storyteller or have never shared a personal tale before, this workshop is designed for everyone—no prior experience is required, and every voice is welcome. By participating, you will learn to communicate with confidence, build deep trust in your creative instincts, and connect with new people in your community. This is a safe, supportive environment with absolutely no judgment. You might just surprise yourself with what you can create while having a lot of fun along the way.

We will meet monthly, first Wednesday after the Book Exchange; however no class in October, then resuming in November.

Classes are led by Louise Vogel, an experienced instructor who has taught Improvisational Theatre in San Francisco at the Aquatic Park Senior Center and NEXT Village for six years. Louise holds a BA in Speech & Theatre and has an extensive background in the dramatic arts, including Children’s Theatre, mime, and acting. As the author of four memoir books, she believes that teaching storytelling is a natural, rewarding outgrowth of her work in improv theatre.

This event is done in partnership with NEXT Village, a neighborhood nonprofit providing services and support that empower members to live independently in their own homes as they age.
