Explore Hangeul’s history and learn the basics of Korean consonants and vowels in a beginner‑friendly workshop.
In this 90-minute workshop, you will explore Hangeul’s history and discover how its letters were designed. You’ll learn the basics of Korean consonants and vowels, practice reading simple syllables, and write your own name in Korean.
To wrap up, participants will create a personalized bookmark with their name in Hangeul, decorated with Korean-themed stickers.
No prior knowledge is needed—this class is perfect for beginners. Come learn, create and take home your own piece of Korean writing!

About the instructor - Eunmi Cho Grgich
Eunmi Cho Grgich has been teaching Korean since 2017. Currently, she is a Korean language teacher at Lowell High School in San Francisco. She has a California teaching credential in World Language: Korean. She holds a Master’s degree in Korean Studies (Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language) and a Bachelor’s degree in Korean Language and Literature, both from Ewha Womans University.
