Workshop: Watercolor Grisaill

Practice watercolor grisaille with artist Amy Koehler/Ame Mei as we field sketch near Presidio Branch Library.

Grisaille is the method of initially painting an image in monochromatic gray. Once we establish value and composition, we glaze the image in washes of color. This is a wonderful technique if you enjoy painting outdoors and want to carry less material or if you struggle with dimension in your sketches and paintings.

We will have a limited number of shared watercolor paint sets and papers available. Please bring your own if you have them.
