Suitable for:
  • Adults

Discover the dynamic world of filmmaking and the many creative and technical roles that bring stories to life. From writing and directing to editing, producing, and visual effects, explore how filmmakers develop ideas, collaborate on set, and guide a project from concept to completion. Learn about the skills, education, tools, and career pathways that shape today’s film industry—along with how technology and teamwork power this ever-evolving art form.

Milena Grozeva Levy, BA (Harvard), MFA (UT Austin), is an award-winning filmmaker, educator, producer, editor, and writer/director whose work has screened at festivals around the world. Trained by influential filmmakers Robb Moss, Ross McElwee, and Dusan Makavejev, and mentored by Emmy-nominated cinematographer Nancy Schiesari and veteran editor Nick Cominos, Milena brings a deep understanding of film aesthetics, storytelling, and the creative process. As a Film/TV Production Professor and Chair of the Film/TV Department at De Anza College, and the faculty advisor for the De Anza SMPTE student chapter, she is passionate about helping emerging filmmakers discover their unique voice, build confidence, and express what matters most to them through the art of cinema.
