Video games can be great environments for learning skills, providing social connection and teaching leadership. Video games can also be empty escapes filled with toxic behavior. How can we as caretakers tell the difference, and how can we teach our kids to do the same?

As a mother and a 20-year video game industry veteran, Kellee Santiago will guide participants in a down-to-earth, judgment-free session designed to help parents, grandparents, teachers, and anyone curious to understand the world of video games—without needing to become gamers themselves.

How to ask smart questions before saying "yes" or "no"

About the presenter: Kellee Santiago is a pioneering video game producer, executive leader and investor dedicated to expanding the boundaries of interactive media as an expressive, artistic medium. She is widely recognized as the co-founder and former president of thatgamecompany, where she produced the critically acclaimed, award-winning titles flOw, Flower and Journey.

Named one of the top 100 most influential women in technology by Fast Company, her extensive career spans key developer relations and leadership roles at industry giants and innovators including Google, Niantic, Ouya and E-Line Media. Santiago currently consults with teams working at the intersection of Film and Video Games. She is writing a book to demystify the world of video games for parents.
