Workshop: Faux Capiz Shell Craft

Learn about the history of capiz shells, then create your own faux capiz shell wall hanging. Capiz shells are white-ish, translucent shells native to the Philippines. During the pre-colonial period, they were used as currency, jewelry and decorative objects. Over time, their use evolved, and they became popular for crafting lamps, chandeliers and fashion accessories. For ages 8–18.
