Film screening and panel discussion. The shaman Davi Kopenawa Yanomami, one of the most important voices of Brazil's Indigenous peoples, faces constant threats to his life as he embarks on a journey that takes him from the Amazon to the mining industry on the other side of the country, where he reunites with his old friend Ailton Krenak. Their encounter sheds light on the ongoing devastation of Brazil's forests and natural resources, with consequences that extend far beyond the country's borders. Traversing both the land and the spiritual plane, Davi's journey invokes the maxita watimapë—the "earth eaters"—and offers a radical, urgent vision of humanity's relationship with the planet.
