Learn the basics of container gardening, discover the important role compost plays in healthy soil, and explore San Francisco's unique composting system, where food scraps placed in residents' green bins are transformed into nutrient-rich compost that supports local farms and is available free to San Francisco residents. Reduce food waste through meal planning and proper food storage, discover how walking, biking, and public transit help reduce emissions, and explore the benefits of replacing gas appliances with clean electric alternatives. Leave with simple actions to help create a healthier, more resilient, and sustainable San Francisco.
