Learn the basics of container gardening, explore how compost builds healthy soil and supports pollinator-friendly plants, and discover San Francisco's unique composting system, where food scraps placed in residents' green bins are transformed into nutrient-rich compost available free to San Francisco residents. Then connect your garden to other high-impact climate actions by learning how preventing food waste, choosing clean transportation, and transitioning to efficient electric appliances can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and create a healthier, more resilient San Francisco. Leave with practical tips, local resources, and simple actions you can take at home.
