San Francisco Youth Theatre presents 'Night, Sky  – A play for babies and their caregivers
San Francisco Youth Theatre is proud to present ‘Night, Sky—a play for babies ages 0-30 months and their caregivers. Families are immersed in an interactive Spanish-bilingual storytelling experience where music, lights, movement, and patterns tell the story of Sky, a young child who discovers the universe at bedtime.

Directed by longtime SFYT staff members Dyana Díaz and Leslie Price and created in collaboration with the players, SFYT’s ‘Night Sky focuses on a sensory environment designed for very young audiences. Babies and caregivers will be seated on stage, becoming a part of Sky’s exploration of their world and all the other places their imagination can take them.

All theatrical elements and storytelling choices are designed to engage and soothe little ones, and a playtime will round out the performance to allow audience members to explore the set and props and engage with the players.

This baby-friendly play is an experience during which crying, sleeping, feeding, and babbling to the players are expected. Creating a welcoming community for new parents and infants to be themselves is an important part of this production.

San Francisco Youth Theatre (SFYT) was founded in 2014 by current Executive Director, Emily Klion, and is dedicated to transforming youth and communities through the performing arts through original, cutting-edge theater that speaks to the unique sensibilities of youth.

Playground behind the library:

2PM- 4PM: Big Play Date

Play, learn and explore with giant Jenga, crayon rubbing, OctoPlay and more. For ages 5 and younger and their caregivers.

Big San Francisco Play Date provides families with young children the opportunity to engage in accessible activities that promote growth and exploration in a safe and welcoming environment. Geared for children ages 0–5, we welcome caregivers and older siblings to play along with them. Big Play Date encourages side-by-side play, choice, turn-taking and making new friends for children while providing their grown-ups an opportunity to learn about the importance of play.
