Life Got Wider:

Meanings Associated with the Computer Use of Older Adults
Event detail

San Francisco-based nonprofit Community Technology Network works to close the digital divide by helping people of all ages build their computer skills. Photovoice is an academic action-research project that explores the social and economic concerns of communities that may affect health and wellness.

Nine older adults participated in the Photovoice study to explore meanings associated with using computers. Participants, including immigrants and low income seniors, were asked to take photos to describe how using computers have affected their lives, their occupations, and the things they do every day.

Digital Inclusion Week (DIW) is a citywide initiative comprised of classes, panel discussions, events and keynote speakers that promote online access and technology skill-building to reduce digital disparities in our communities.
