Happy 15th Birthday, Hay(na)ku!

Hay(na)ku15 AnthologyThe San Francisco Public Library’s Filipino American Center and Philippine American Writers & Artists presents a book launch, readings and performances to celebrate the release of the anthology and the 15fh anniversary of hay(na)ku. The public is invited to celebrate hay(na)ku with its poets, including the inventor and anthology editor Eileen R. Tabios. A birthday cake and other sumptuous snacks will be available, and a poetic dance will occur.

The hay(na)ku is a 21st century, diasporic poetic form invented by Eileen R. Tabios. It is a six-word tercet with the first line being one word, the second line being two words, and the third line being three words. Since its inauguration in 2003, poets and visual artists from around the world have taken to the form, creating in 2018 the fifth anthology to be released, HAY(NA)KU 15 (Meritage Press and Paloma Press).

Free and open to the public.

Sponsored by the Filipino American Center.

This is a Reading, Writing & Poetry program from SFPL. We love reading/sharing/creating words.
