Enjoy an evening of live readings from diverse Pinay voices in contemporary literature: Melissa Sipin, Elaine Castillo, Renee Macalino Rutledge, Trinidad Escobar and Janice Sapigao. Following the readings, write and share your own stories through a zine-making workshop with PAL. Instruction and materials will be provided. This program is brought to you by SFPL, SFMOMA Public Knowledge, and PAL / The Pilipinx American Library.

PAL / The Pilipinx American Library is a mobile, non-circulating library that celebrates print histories and collects narratives by writers, poets, artists, and scholars across the diaspora. PAL centers the Pilipinx American experience through the reading and sharing of texts and other printed matter in public, through pop-up libraries, performances, and readings. For more info, visit: www.weareyourpals.net.

Public Knowledge, the newest branch of the San Francisco Public Library, is a partnership with SFMOMA, created to explore how contemporary art and culture can illuminate important issues and create spaces for new conversations.

Note: This event will be taking place at a location outside the San Francisco network of public libraries. For questions concerning the event, please contact the hosting library: Public Knowledge Branch (SFMOMA).

Sponsored by the Filipino American Center.
