Women Poets in Conversation

In honor of women’s history month, authors Lynne Barnes and Kathleen McClung, longtime San Franciscans and friends, talk about their poetry—past, present, and future. Their conversation will explore both process and product: How does San Francisco inspire and influence their work? How did they craft and publish their books, Falling Into Flowers (2017) and The Typists Play Monopoly (2018)? What advice do they have for emerging poets? They will weave in several poems and welcome audience questions.

Lynne Barnes worked for the San Francisco Public Library for 15 years.

Kathleen McClung teaches at Skyline College and The Writing Salon.

HERstory, celebration of Women’s History Month, honoring the contributions of women and the unique experience of being female today.

This is a Reading, Writing & Poetry program from SFPL. We love reading/sharing/creating words.
