Show Your PRIDE This Month

June marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising in New York—fitting for this year’s SF PRIDE theme, Generations of Resistance. Our fabulous staff and bookmobile will join the official PRIDE parade. Look for us on the route handing out fun giveaways. We put the racy in literacy!

The Library has a great lineup of LGBTQIA events this June, including an exhibition exploring the Stonewall Uprising. We are proud to host two days of LGBTQ films from Southeast Asia. Our queerest library ever, the Eureka Valley Branch, celebrates its annual open house featuring face painting, music and Drag Queen Story Hour—all are welcome.

SFPL has a series of engaging author talks and panel discussions celebrating PRIDE and resistance. On June 13, a panel of educators and activists will talk about the importance of queer space, discovering SF's LGBTQIA Historic Places. On June 19, we celebrate the release of We Are Everywhere: Protest, Power & Pride in the History of Queer Liberation at the Oasis Nightclub.

This PRIDE year, get yourself to the dance floor, celebrate, educate, learn and resist—at the library.
