Adult New Readers
The Adult New Readers are books written specifically with adult learners in mind. They are filled with engaging, high-quality illustrations and photos making them ideal for learners just beginning their reading journey. Created by tutors and literacy staff from California Library Literacy Services, with contributions from learners. These books are available to read free online, and copies of some of the titles are available to take home.
Hi-Lo Collection
Located on the 5th floor of of the Main Library, a resource collection designed for adults who want engaging books that are easy to read and quick to finish. These books feature captivating storylines, clear language, and shorter chapters—ideal for readers who appreciate a straightforward, enjoyable reading experience. With choices across various genres, this collection has something for everyone, whether you're new to reading or just prefer stories that get to the point. Project Read Book Club

The Project Read Book Club meets every month (except December). The book club is open to Project Read learners and tutors. Each participant receives a free copy of the book selection and can access the e-Audiobook.
