Description

Summer in an ocean side town could be heaven on Earth for most young people, but not for the sexually ambiguous Frankie whose life takes a turn for the more dramatic. Get ready to sit back and enjoy a look at three women, two friends, and one summer full of the excitement of youth. In SWIMMING, we join young tomboy Frankie who wants more out of life than Myrtle Beach can offer her. She spends her days working in her family's restaurant and wastes her nights hanging out on the boardwalk with her best friend, Nicola, proprietor of a piercing shop and self proclaimed trouble seeker. Frankie has always played sidekick to Nicola, so neither are prepared when a young siren hired as a waitress courts only Frankie. The ensuing chemistry and affection between the two women incite intense jealousy from the previously unchallenged Nicola, setting in motion a series of betrayals that drive a wedge into their friendship. Simultaneously, Heath, a drifter selling tie-dyes out of the back of his van has some success trying to light up his own sparks with Frankie. As things get progressively more complicated, Frankie is forced to finally take a stand for herself and her friendships.
