A wide variety of materials may be requested at Paging and Reference Desks for use within the Library (these are "Reference" or LIBRARY USE ONLY items). To maintain the collection for the enjoyment of patrons, SFPL requires those wishing to use LIBRARY USE ONLY or "Reference" materials from Paging and Reference Desks to deposit one of the following cards, which will be returned upon the intact return of library materials:

STEP 1: Sign into Mango Languages from sfpl.org/elearning .

STEP 2: Click Language Learning/ESL.

STEP 3: Scroll down the list until you find Mango Languages. Click on the link. 

Enter your 14-digit card number without spaces and your PIN/password. If need to reset your PIN/password, please use our PIN/password Reset Tool . 

STEP 4: Create a Mango Languages Account

Accessing Kindle Books from the Libby App

NOTE: The Library provides very limited technical support for Adobe Digital Editions. It is recommended for advanced ebook users. If you are new to ebooks and/or have limited experience with computers, mobile devices, and technology, please consider using the user-friendly Libby  app instead.

Library staff can update your address: 

-by email to ask@sfpl.libanswers.com. Please include: 
-library card number
-full name
-date of birth
-telephone number
-current residence address 

-online via Chat or Text  (please provide the above info and your email address)
-by telephone: 415-557-4400 (please provide the above info and your email address)
-In person: present your library card or valid ID at any SFPL location .

Teacher Cards are for borrowing items needed for curriculum support / classroom use. Teachers may use their adult card for library materials checked out for personal use. The Teacher Card allows teachers to borrow library materials for longer, request more reserves and request multiple copies of the same item.
