For some, a chosen name may be an important component of identity. Therefore, the Library has taken steps to allow individuals to self-identify by establishing guidelines for a chosen name to be included in Library Records along with a legal name in order to ensure that all communication with library patrons is affirming and respectful of a person's identity and circumstances.
