The San Francisco Public Library celebrates the initiation of its first SF Youth Poet Laureates program with its new reading series, San Francisco Living Poets Society, curated by SF Poet Laureate Genny Lim in collaboration with Youth Speaks and 826 Valencia. The readings launch in January and will introduce our city’s newly selected Youth Poet Laureate cohort members to the public, along with a who’s who of local poets and an open mic, at participating SF Branch Libraries. This reading will feature Youth Poet Katelyn Wong and local poet Clara Hsu in an intergenerational poetry reading, followed by an open mic where poets are welcome to share their work. Reservations recommended (by phone or in person only): (415) 355- 2888.

About the poets | 關於詩人:
Katelyn Wong was born and raised in the Inner Richmond of San Francisco, growing up eating dim sum on Clement Street and watching her dad vigorously play ping pong at the Richmond Rec Center. She is passionate about advocating for women of color and sharing her first-generation experiences through filmmaking and poetry. One day, she hopes to pursue higher education as a first-generation student. If she’s not writing or eating noodle soup—even on hot days—she’s probably watching Cantonese dramas with her dad.
