Michael Goldberg was a senior writer for Rolling Stone magazine for a decade and was the founder of the first Internet rock & roll magazine, Addicted to Noise. In this presentation Goldberg will talk about his life as a rock & roll journalist. He will share photos he took of Jerry Garcia, Bob Dylan, Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, Patti Smith, Lou Reed, Neil Young, Tom Waits, Townes Van Zandt, Van Morrison, Frank Zappa, the Sex Pistols and others and read excerpts from profiles and essays on Bob Dylan, James Brown’s visit to San Quentin, Beach Boy Brian Wilson, Patti Smith and more. 

Last year two books by Goldberg were published, Wicked Game: The True Story of Guitarist James Calvin Wilsey and Addicted To Noise: The Music Writings of Michael Goldberg; the latter is a collection of his best interviews, essays, features and profiles from 1975 until 2022.
