Shanta Nimbark Sachaorff unlocks the secrets of pickled perfection as she explores the rich tradition and health benefits of pickled foods, followed by a hands-on demonstration of two refrigerator pickling methods. Utilizing crunchy, seasonal vegetables like cucumbers, participants will learn quick-to-prepare recipes that are ready to serve within days. Cap off the event with a sampling of these tangy delights paired with homemade chai and crackers for a flavorful experience.

She is celebrated for her expertise in vegetarian cooking. Having moved to the United States in 1964 for college, she settled in San Francisco in 1973, where she actively participated in the Food Conspiracy and co-founded The San Francisco Bay Area’s Peoples Food System.
