Join us for our 10th anniversary celebration with an all-day celebration of fun activities for families, craft lovers, music enthusiasts and City explorers. Gather for an interactive sing-along and captivating stories with local author Bob Barner. Unleash your creativity in arts and crafts workshops designed for children and teens. Groove to festive musical performances by talented local groups. Embark on a fascinating 2-hour walking tour of the vibrant North Beach neighborhood, discover its rich history, culture and cuisine–meet the characters that make this area unique.
 

Walking Tour of North Beach – SF City Guides (Part 1)
10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.     
Learn about the food, culture and history of San Francisco’s Little Italy, where early immigrants in the 1910s established the authentic Italian character that remains its defining quality. Discover famous landmarks, buildings, spectacular view of downtown, and this vibrant neighborhood's unique charm. Guide: Audrey West.


Sing, draw and read along with author Bob Barner
11:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.      
Sing, draw and read-along with celebrated local author and illustrator Bob Barner as he shares Bugs, Bugs, Bugs! and other books from his repertoire including Dem Bones, Go, Go, Go! and My Dog Has Fleas!


Street Art with Jesus Zepeda
11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Learn how to draw and sketch graphite, charcoal and pastel portraits for the SFAC program from a free-lancer, painter and sketch artist, Jesus Zepeda.


Special Performance by El Camino Ballet
12:00 p.m. -1:00 p.m.             
Enjoy a special demonstration of a ballet barre, solo variations by the El Camino Ballet dancers, and fun interactive lessons afterward for those who wish to learn the basics of ballet. Instructor and founder of El Camino Ballet: Irene Liu.


Lacemaking with Golden Gate Lacers
1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Learn the art of making bobbin lace. Learn about fiber arts: Knitting, crocheting, tatting and lace making. Meet others who are working on projects or interested in learning and exploring.


Line Dancing with Instructor Lisa Brown
1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. 
Grab your friends and learn the basics of line dancing. Put on your boots and enjoy the lively atmosphere. Meet other fellow country dance enthusiasts!


Walking Tour of North Beach Neighborhood (Part 2)
3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.           
Explore the history, culture and food of San Francisco’s Little Italy, where early Italian immigrants established the authentic Italian character that remains its defining quality. Learn more about famous landmarks, buildings, authentic restaurants, hidden gems and a spectacular view of the Bay and experience the unique charm of this vibrant neighborhood.
