The risk of becoming a victim of fraud and scams never been higher with emerging technologies and the reach of global communications. In this presentation, you'll learn about different types of scams, how they work, who is targeted, the red flags and warning signs, and how to safeguard yourself and your community from these threats. Educational resources and print materials will also be available for attendees to take.

Kue Lee, Director of Targeted Outreach from the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI), discusses how scammers are using Artificial Intelligence (AI), crypto assets and your digital footprint. Lee will offer useful tips and resources to protect yourself and your community.

portrait of Kue Lee, DFPI  Kue Lee is the Director of Targeted Outreach at the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation, promoting consumer financial literacy and education while advocating for responsible business practices and innovation. Prior to the DFPI, Kue was an Information Officer for the California Department of Public Health. He has both a Masters of Business Administration and a Bachelors in Journalism from California State University, Fresno. Kue is also a U.S. Army Veteran, having served two combat tours, one in Iraq and the other in Afghanistan.
