11:00 - 1:00
We'll be pausing Julie Dash's lush migration drama, Daughters of the Dust, to draw striking frames. The poetic frames will spark your visual imagination.
Basic drawing materials (pencils, paper, erasers) will be provided. You may bring your own materials, but please no fume-creating paint or paint pens. Watercolor, ink and gouache are fine.
This is a self-led event; there will be no instruction or feedback. However, there will be an opportunity at the end of the session to look at others' drawings and show your own.
PG, 113 mins., 1991. Subtitles and Closed Captions (CC) in English. Due to pauses for drawing, the full film will not be shown.
