Tachyon Publications, a San Francisco-based publisher of science fiction and fantasy books, is celebrating its 30th anniversary. The party will begin at 12:30pm in the Koret Lobby with light refreshments, and Tachyon authors Peter S. Beagle, Pat Murphy and others will be in attendance. Then at 3pm, the Koret Auditorium will open for a special appearance and readings by authors Joe R. Lansdale (Hap and Leonard, Bubba Ho-Tep) and Samantha Mills (The Wings Upon Her Back), courtesy of SF in SF Events, the reading series sponsored by Tachyon Publications.

This event coincides with the exhibit 30 Years of Tachyon Publications, on the 3rd Floor of the Main Library in the Humanities Center. The exhibit runs from September 19 to November 20, 2025, and includes books, manuscripts, awards, photos and more documenting the company’s extraordinary history.

Tachyon champions the creative storytelling of authors who inspire through intelligent prose and imaginative worlds. Tachyon books have received Hugo, Nebula, World Fantasy, Sturgeon, Mythopoeic, Locus, Endeavor, Grand Prix de l’Imaginaire, Endeavor, Neukom, Sidewise, and Philip K. Dick awards.
